Hair Loss Due to Illness
I have total hair loss. Can I wear a lace front wig?
Absolutely.
I have Medicare. Will Medicare pay for my lace wig due to illness?
To the best of our knowledge Medicare will not cover the cost of a hair prothesis.
Will my insurance pay for my lace wig?
Possibly, you need to check your insurance policy to make sure, but if you are going through cancer-related therapy, treatment for alopecia, or if you need a wig for a medical related issue you might be covered by your health insurance company. Most health insurance companies will cover anywhere between 80-100% when you purchasing a "Cranial Hair Prosthesis" (medical wig). You should get a written prescription or letter from your doctor stating the medical issue you suffer from, and the need for a "Cranial Hair Prosthesis". It's important that the prescription states "Cranial Hair Prosthesis". We will then give you a receipt stating that your purchase was made per your prescription. Typically, you would then make a claim to your insurance company including your receipt from us and your doctor's prescription.
